Bemis Elsham is part of an American multi-national manufacturing organisation. The site manufactures flexible packaging for the food and medical industries. The management team wanted to restructure in order to become more cost efficient and productive and Elaine was retained to complete a restructure and redundancy project.

She took a creative approach by designing a framework to assess for redeployment rather than selecting for redundancy. This ensured the organisation kept the best team to help them to move forward. Elaine designed the tools to be used, coached managers in the assessment process and designed and delivered workshops to all ‘at risk’ employees to ensure that they had all of the information they needed to succeed. She regularly held communications sessions for affected employees to ensure that questions were answered and they felt comfortable with the process.

Elaine worked closely with the management team and HR Manager coaching them through the various phases of the project. This was a complex project which was completed on time and with minimal disruption to the operation.

Janet Walker is a small company based in East Riding that manufactures bespoke, high end soft furnishings. The company employs 20 workroom staff in addition to a small customer facing team. We worked with the owner to establish the company’s compliance with current UK employment legislation.

We drafted all required documentation including contracts and policies & procedures, producing a company handbook. We included additional sections covering Health & Safety, performance management, attendance/absence, induction, training and staff wellbeing. We continued to support the company by advising on a range of HR issues.

Following the merger of three colleges into one organisation Leeds City College underwent a massive restructure. We supported various management teams through the assessment process required to populate the new structure, focusing on the areas of management and leadership. The project involved working closely with senior management to provide independent input into the assessment process as a member of the assessment panel.
